Our Feiseanna are run on a truly open competitive platform. Dancers and teachers of any affiliation, or lack of affiliation, may participate regardless of membership. Known as “the Little Feis that could,” Local and Regional Feiseanna are relatively small by design in order to ensure order, fairness and accuracy for every competitor.
The goal of AAIDT Feiseanna is to bring schools together in the spirit of fellowship. Competition is encouraged as a means by which to set personal goals and measure individual achievement.
Today there are dozens of Irish dancing organizations around the world, each holding their own World and National Championships. For this reason, it is no longer useful for any organization to profess a true, single, World or National Championship.
Schools host Silver Crown (Regional) Championships which culminate in a single Gold Crown event each year. The highest standing currently offered by AAIDT is “Crown Champion.”
