Irish Dance Workshop

Irish Dance Workshop is a dance primer for students and transitional teachers. It covers the basic skills required for all dance movements and prepares the student for the material presented in Dances for the Feis.

This DVD describes basic positions, essential warm-ups, muscle strengthening and conditioning. Softshoe skills include Advance and Retire, Change Front and Change Back, Change Point, and Side Step for Solo and Ceili. Basic hardshoe skills include Treble Forward, Treble Backward, and Tip Step.

Dances for the Feis, Vol. 1 covers all Level 1 sample dances for competition, including Level 1 Slip Jig, Reel, Hop Jig, Treble Jig and Treble Reel. Easy-to-use menu navigation lets you choose a specific step within each dance so you don’t have to fast forward or review. All visual materials focuses on the feet for best view.

This is a choreography video. It is not dance instruction. It is assumed that the viewer possesses a general understanding of Irish dancing skills.

Dances for the Feis, Vol. 2 builds on the skills established in Volume 1 to create Advanced Beginner steps. In addition is a challenging Hornpipe.
